THE average price per person of spending a night in a gîte in France during the high season is €26.11, while the cost of the same in a chambre d’hôtes is €32.60.
A survey by French holiday home website, Toprural, found that the most expensive gîtes are found in Corsica, with an average price of €45.90.
Coming in some way behind in second place was Poitou-Charentes at €32.50, with the third most expensive place on average being Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur, with a price per person per night of €31.30.
The cheapest places to stay in a gîte were Lorraine (€17.10), Champagne-Ardenne (€18.30) and Alsace (€18.80); the survey drew on prices supplied by just under 9,000 gîtes and chambre d’hôtes (via france_normandy).
